Visiting Goslar, UNESCO World Hertitage Monument
Goslar's Silver mines have been mined continously for >1000 years, a world record. Until 1988 the mine has been active. For centuries the city held an important place in german politics, kings and emperors had residences there and were frequent visitors. Today the city center retains the mediaval looks, including 47 churches and chapels distributed over the center. It was once called the "northern Rom".Further information is available here.
